Rifle Actions

Impact Precision, Lone Peak Arms, the Zermatt Arms RimX and more, trued and fitted in Canton, Mississippi.

Overview

What does our action work cover?

Rachel Precision builds on actions from Impact Precision, Lone Peak Arms, Zermatt Arms and others, and blueprints factory actions in our shop in Canton, Mississippi. Every other part of a rifle connects to the action, so our work on it makes the rifle more reliable, accurate and consistent.

Blueprinting

What is action blueprinting?

Blueprinting trues the action to the rifle’s centerline, so the bolt, barrel and receiver work as one system. Factory actions often carry small misalignments that hurt accuracy, and blueprinting removes them.

We align the action to the barrel’s centerline with our True Bore Alignment system, then recut the receiver face and tenon threads in line with the action’s internal rails. The result is a stress-free, true action.

Threading and tenons

Why do threading and tenon work matter?

Good threading and tenon work keep your barrel and action aligned and securely fitted. We cut barrel threads and receiver tenons to tight tolerances, so nothing shifts out of line when you shoot, whether you’re rebarreling or fitting a barrel to a new custom action.

Actions

Which actions do we build on?

  • Impact Precision. The 737R short action, the 777R and 787R long actions, and the NBK in short and long. The 737R has a one-piece receiver, integral recoil lug and integral 20 MOA Picatinny rail on a Remington 700 footprint.
  • Lone Peak Arms. The Fuzion in short and long, the Fuzion with the Alpine Port, and the Fuzion Ti in short, medium and long. The Ti is 6Al-4V titanium, about half a pound lighter than a stainless action.
  • Zermatt Arms. The RimX, a rimfire action on a true Remington 700 footprint for .22LR, 17 Mach 2, 17 HMR, 22 Mag and 17 WSM. See our .22LR builds.
  • MPA. The Elite rimfire barreled action, our second .22LR platform beside the RimX.
  • Pierce. Titanium actions, for builds where every ounce counts.

Shipping

How do actions ship?

An action is the serialized part of a rifle, so federal law treats it as a firearm. We ship actions only to a federal firearms licensee (FFL).

  1. Pick an FFL dealer near you.
  2. Your dealer emails a copy of their license to rachelprecisionllc@gmail.com.
  3. You complete the transfer and background check at the dealer.

Building with us? The action stays in our shop and ships in the finished rifle.

“I'm probably easily 20 barrels in with all the variants we have tried, and even the worst barrel was capable of winning any PRS match out there.”
Jeff Guerry Team USA, 2026 IPRF World Championship
“I've never gotten a barrel that didn't shoot lights out from Randy, and he still tries to learn and critique things with each one.”
Dakota Wright U.S. Precision Rifle Rimfire Team, 2025

Does a custom action need blueprinting?

Usually not. Custom actions like the Impact Precision 737R are machined to tight headspace and index tolerances, tight enough for prefit barrels. Blueprinting is mainly for factory actions, which often carry small misalignments between the bolt, receiver and threads. We true those with our True Bore Alignment setup, recutting the face and tenon threads in line with the internal rails.

Can I swap barrels between Impact Precision actions?

Largely, yes. Impact lists the 777R as taking the same barrel tenon as the 737R, 737T and every NBK: 1-1/16 x 16 TPI. So a barrel fitted to one of those fits the others. The 787R is the exception. Tell us which actions you own, and we’ll fit your barrels to suit.

Do actions have to ship to an FFL?

Yes. A rifle action is the serialized receiver, so federal law treats it as a firearm. We ship actions to a licensed dealer (FFL) near you, and you complete the transfer and background check there. If the action is going into a rifle we’re building for you, it stays in our shop and ships in the finished rifle to your FFL.

Can you true the factory action I already have?

Blueprinting a factory action means aligning it to its centerline, then recutting the receiver face and tenon threads with our True Bore Alignment setup so the bolt, receiver and barrel run true. Call (601) 573-2753 with your action model, and we’ll tell you whether it’s worth truing or better replaced.
