Rachel Precision is a precision rifle builder in Canton, Mississippi, building custom PRS and NRL centerfire rifles. Randy Rachel has been a machinist for more than 40 years, and he chambers, threads, trues and beds every rifle in his own shop.
The record is public. In the 2023 season, 3 of the top 200 PRS Open shooters ran rifles built by Rachel Precision (Precision Rifle Blog, 2024). Jeff Guerry, 4th in Open at the 2026 IPRF World Championship, has run about 20 of Randy's barrels, and his 6 Dasher match rifles are chambered here (XLR Industries, 2023). In 2025 he won seven regular-season PRS Pro Series matches, a first in the series (Precision Rifle Blog, November 2025).

Actions
Most of our PRS builds start on an Impact Precision 737R, a Lone Peak Arms Fuzion or a Zermatt Arms action. All three use the Remington 700 footprint, so they drop into MDT, MPA, Foundation and Manners stocks and take Bix'n Andy and TriggerTech triggers.
We stock the Impact 737R, 777R, 787R and NBK, the Lone Peak Fuzion in steel and titanium, the Curtis Scout and the Pierce titanium action. If you'd rather build on the action you already own, we true and blueprint factory actions too.
The build
Every build is specced with you, and every operation happens in our shop.
Barrels
We chamber match blanks from Brux, Krieger, Bartlein, Benchmark, CRB and Muller Works. For the 6mm cartridges most PRS shooters run, we stock 1:7.5-twist blanks in 4-groove and 5R, which stabilize the long, heavy match bullets those cartridges are built around.
Length and contour depend on the cartridge, the chassis and how you shoot barricades. We'll talk it through before we order the blank.
Turnaround and pricing
The final number depends on the action, barrel, chassis, trigger, muzzle device and optic. Most of the parts we build with are listed in the shop with current prices, so you can price a build before you call.

There’s no independent ranking of PRS rifle builders, so nobody can honestly claim the title. What Rachel Precision can show you is the record. Jeff Guerry, 4th in Open at the 2026 IPRF World Championship (March Scopes, 2026), has run about 20 of our barrels, and his 6 Dasher match rifles are chambered here (XLR Industries, 2023). Judge the work by that.
Impact Precision (737R, 777R, 787R and NBK), Lone Peak Arms (Fuzion and Fuzion Ti), Zermatt Arms, Curtis Custom (Scout) and Pierce titanium actions. All use the Remington 700 footprint. We also true and blueprint factory actions if you want to build on what you have.
6 Dasher, 6 GT, 6 Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Winchester are the common ones, and we cut plenty of others. Tell us what you shoot and we’ll spec the reamer, twist and freebore around it.
True Bore Alignment is how we set a barrel up in the lathe. We center the chamber on the exact centerline of the bore, so the bore and chamber are concentric. The bullet travels straight from the case into the rifling, shot placement stays consistent, and pressure stays even inside the chamber, which cuts down on wear.
Yes. We rebarrel custom actions and Remington 700-pattern rifles, and we true and blueprint factory actions. Call (601) 573-2753 with your action, chassis and the barrel you want, and we will quote the price and timeline.
Yes. A complete rifle or a bare action is a firearm under federal law, so we ship it to a licensed dealer (FFL) near you. Your dealer emails us a copy of their license, and you complete the transfer and background check there. Barrels, chassis, triggers and optics ship straight to you.
